Body is straight with good gaps and no known rust. Both tops included in good condition. Nice bumpers, trim, chrome, grille, lenses and glass. Correct notches on fenders behind headlight bezels. Hood, hard top, soft top lid and body all have matching stamps and are original to this car. Michelin all-season tires on original steel wheels with factory covers. Interior presents nicely with carpet, door panels, dash, steering wheel, wood trim and leather seat upholstery all in good condition. Gauges, lights, indicators, Becker Europa stereo and climate control (including A/C) are all working properly. The W113 chassis, designed by Paul Bracq, was introduced in 1963 with the 230SL – by 1968 the engine displacement had grown to 2.8 liters which resulted in appreciably better performance. Most of the US-market cars were supplied with a four-speed automatic, and many were optioned with air conditioning. This Pagoda is nicely detailed under the hood. It also runs and drives quite well and the chassis feels put together like a well-maintained example should. Spare, jack, tools, reproduction owners manual and service records dating to the 1980s are included with the sale.
