Produced for just three years, the 1971-1973 generation of the Mercury Cougar would be the last to be based on the Ford Mustang platform. And with a lot less Cougars made compared to Mustangs, these sharp Mercurys are a rare sight, especially in convertible form. Here we have one of these rare cats, a 1973 Cougar convertible that has been beautifully restored. Refinished in Raven Black, the Cougars body shows good panel fit and even gaps while all the chrome and stainless-steel trim shows very well. The brand new power-operated white convertible top, with its glass not plastic rear window, looks great against the black paint while a set of American Racing five-spoke wheels wearing Cooper Cobra white letter radials finish off this cats classy stance. Inside, the dash, seats and carpet are all in fantastic condition.
